Chives - growing, care features

It has been practically proven and verified that the sibulet is absolutely not a whimsical vegetable in cultivation, capable of actively developing with any of the known planting options.

The main positive point of planting this onion variety is the collection of a high-quality and high yield in almost any growing conditions. In other words, active growth and a good harvest yield can be achieved both when growing in a low temperature regime, and when growing in a warm regime.

In order to grow this vegetable crop from seeds, first of all, you will need directly ripened material. Sowing is best in mid-April.

Seeds must be properly prepared before sowing. The preparation is as follows: the seeds are placed in water for three days. The water should be changed daily. The water temperature should be close to room temperature.

Poor-quality or spoiled seeds present in the material will float up after being in water. This will make it possible to get rid of them in time.

Before placing the seed in the soil, prepare a place for the garden bed. It will be better if the bed is not wide. It will be ideal if the sowing is carried out in a maximum of three rows.

The seeds are placed in pre-arranged bows one at a time at a certain distance from each other. The depth of the seed should not exceed 1 cm. After planting, the bed is mulched with peat, sand and humus. This composition will help to avoid cracking of the earth when the temperature rises during the height of the summer period.

Sowing seeds in the soil can be done in the month of July. thus, the crop can be harvested until late autumn. If desired, such autumn growth can be transplanted into pots with specially prepared soil, transferred to a house or apartment and harvested rich in vitamins and useful microelements until the end of the winter period.

The main criteria for caring for a sibulet grown from seeds:

  • high-quality weeding and getting rid of weeds;
  • timely watering of the beds with onions;
  • if necessary, the destruction of the onion fly;
  • timely replenishment of the soil with humus.
